Small Engines 161

Small Engines is an introductory automotive course with a focus on gasoline powered, 4-cycle engine operation, and the required maintenance of yard maintenance equipment. In this course, students will disassemble, inspect, measure and reassemble a small gasoline powered engine, and explore the subsystems involved in its operation. Students will troubleshoot issues relating to system performance, and will also be introduced to other maintenance items, outside of engine operation, required to keep machines running at peak performance all season long.

Prerequisite for Advanced Automotive course.
